Mizuno has taken a great shoe and improved its fit, feel and cushioning. New for this year, the Wave Rider?s plastic Wave plate has been changed to a composite material, giving the shoe a softer sweet spot in the rearfoot. Two other significant upgrades are the VS-1 cushioning insert in the forefoot and the thicker midsole foam, which enhances the Wave Rider's cushioning.
